To commemorate the David Bowie Is exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, Yes Etc created a dance party and art experience, welcoming more than 2,000 David Bowie fans to the museum for an all-ages affair. Along with our collaborators at Little Cinema, we set out to celebrate the Starman himself, visualizing his legacy to bring his artistry to life through multiple floors of dancing, costume contests, circus performances, interactive installations, photo booths, and a cover band to perform Bowie’s greatest hits.
OUR MAGIC
Strategized on marketing and event messaging to ignite interest in both House of Yes and Brooklyn Museum’s audience.
Collaborated with museum team to develop audience journey and direct the overall look & feel of event.
Produced two full floors of dance parties complete with two full sound systems, staging, projections and lighting design.
Programmed DJs and live David Bowie cover band.
Developed and executed costume contest with cash prize and entry to year membership to House of Yes in partnership with Valdo Prosecco.
Fabricated the Bowie Beauty Parlor and Glitter Stations for guest engagement.
Conceptualized & fabricated activations including two photo booths, Bowie-styled beauty bars and live drawing activation featuring Bowie stylized characters as models and art supplies.
