Voodoo Festival tapped House of Yes to join the festival and create an interactive opportunity that would compel more festival-goers to express themselves and dress up in costume. To do so, Yes Etc & House of Yes brought the festival’s first-ever costume contest to life as a full-hour of entertainment featuring comedy, drag, dance numbers and friendly competition. Our programming featured a special guest performance from legendary drag icon Lady Bunny, while our Mistress of Ceremonies Madame Vivien V lead the spectacle as audience members participated and took their shot at being the King or Queen of Voodoo in three categories: Grotesque & Gorgeous Gore, Intergalactic: Outta This World, Wild Card WTF OMG Amazing.
Selected by our honorable panel of judges, the winners received VIP Tickets to Voodoo 2020, an honorary crown and sash, and automatic entry into the following year’s contest.
